Samoa Cycling Tours Information
How long is the tour?
The cycling tour is on Savai'i for 7 nights/8 days. We will meet at
a destination in Apia at 10.00am on day 1. The meeting place will be
communicated to you when your tour is confirmed.
The tour finishes on the 8th day when we take the ferry from Savaii
to Mulifanua. Let us know what your flights/plans are as we may be
able to assist with transfers.
What about my flights?
You are responsible for your flights to and from Samoa.
Pacific Blue, Air New Zealand and Air Pacific have direct flights to
Samoa from New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Hawaii and Los Angeles.
Throughout the year airlines have specials which are either flights
and hotel packages or flights only. Check your travel agent or
online travel service for the best deals.
What kind of accommodation can I expect?
Our planned stops are at fales/cabins on or close to the beach. Some
have their own bathrooms whilst others have shared facilities.
Who can come on tour?
Any adult who is moderately fit, enjoys cycling and looking for
adventure can participate. You can join a tour or make up your own
group. We have had families with teenage children (high school and
older) take part- the children’s feedback; thoroughly enjoyed it and
will recommend for young(er) people!
How fit do I need to be?
To enjoy the experience we recommend that you are moderatly fit. We
suggest you do some training rides before doing this trip. The
coastal roads are generally flat. Parts of the route are hilly and
undulating. The total circuit is approximately 192km.
Do I need to bring my bike?
No. We provide you with an Avanti Discovery bike (21 gears) and
helmet.
Most of our bikes have water bottle cages and an option for a
front-handle bag for your camera, wallet, water bottle, sunscreen
and other personal items.
Other activities:
Swimming and snorkeling are always popular. Previous groups have
requested visits to plantations, weaving cooperative, local nursery
and oil production farm. Other sites include the blowholes at Taaga,
canopy walk at Falealupo and old airstrip site at Asau. We will
cover these in more detail at the initial briefing.
Take a look at the tour gallery.
